A night at SoFi Stadium is easy. Getting to it, and getting away from it afterward, is the part that decides how the evening feels. Seventy thousand people arrive in Inglewood inside the same ninety minutes, and every one of them leaves inside the same twenty. Why Inglewood is harder than it looks on a map

SoFi Stadium sits in the middle of the Hollywood Park district, with the Kia Forum and the Intuit Dome close enough that a busy calendar can put two large events within walking distance of each other on the same night. The stadium is also about three miles from LAX, which means the roads feeding it are already carrying airport traffic before a single fan arrives.

The result: surface streets around Prairie, Manchester and Century absorb event traffic and airport traffic at once. The 405 and the 105 both funnel into the same few exits. A drive that takes twenty five minutes at noon can take an hour and a half at 6pm on a game night, and none of that time is spent moving quickly.

Parking is the second problem

SoFi parking is sold in advance and tied to a specific lot, so the price and the position are settled before you leave the house. That works well if you bought early. It works poorly if you did not, because the closest lots go first and the walk from whatever remains can be long, in the dark, at the end of a night when nobody feels like walking.

The real cost is on the way out. A parking structure empties one car at a time through a small number of exits into streets that are already saturated. Sitting in the car for forty five minutes after the encore is not unusual. You paid for the seat, not for that.

If you are flying in the same day, build a real buffer rather than a hopeful one.

The other side matters too. Leaving at the final song saves you very little and costs you the ending. Leaving twenty minutes after the crowd has moved often gets you home earlier, and considerably calmer. With a chauffeur waiting, that choice is yours to make.

Concerts, games, and everything next door
