How hourly hire works

You book a car for a block of time, three hours minimum. The chauffeur stays with you for that whole window: waiting outside the meeting, moving the car to the next entrance, keeping the cabin cool while you finish lunch. There is no meter running in the anxious sense; the rate was agreed when you booked, so an extra twenty minutes at a stop is just the plan flexing, not a bill growing.

What it costs

Current hourly rates, each with a three hour minimum:

• BMW i5: $80 per hour. Executive sedan, fully electric, three passengers.
• Chevrolet Suburban: $100 per hour. Seven passengers, six cases, the group option.
• BMW i7: $125 per hour, or $1,000 for a full eight hour day. The flagship.

When hourly beats point-to-point

• Three or more stops. Two meetings and a dinner across town usually costs less as one hourly booking than as three separate transfers, and there is zero waiting for cars in between.
• Shopping and errands with cargo. Rodeo Drive to Melrose with bags accumulating in the boot, not on your arm.
• Events with unpredictable endings. When the reception runs long, your car is still yours. Nothing to rebook, no surge at midnight.
• Showing visitors the city. Griffith, the coast, dinner in Santa Monica: one relaxed loop instead of six app bookings.
• Film and production days. Unit moves and talent runs where the schedule is a suggestion. The car adapts because it is already yours.
